DISPATCHES FROM A GOD-LESS NATION: A Prayer For The Dead
I haven't written to "Catholics Who Care" as a blogger or on this particular platform since 2016. For eight years I bounced around observing: Children and old people, the dying and coupled folks, bar room attendies and auto mechanics, art galleries, political venues, organic farms, auction houses.... The world has changed drastically since 2016 and, in anyone's opinion, not for the better. So, I ask myself: Why? Have you noticed this phenomenon? Have you wondered why?
For several years, while in prayer, I said: "Lord... let me know what you want me to do for You." I opened my heart and waited. I opened my heart and I listened. I prayed. His answer came in an email from Catholic365.com inviting me to write for them again.
Now I am back to offer "Catholics Who Care" an opportunity to be "a fly on the wall" as I travel from The Northeast, through Arkansas; down to Louisiana; across Texas, to New Mexico and Arizona. California is as far west as this pilgrim will travel.
The purpose of these "dispatches" is to offer food for thought to Catholics and non-Catholics alike, who are asking the same question I am asking: What has happened to us?
I invite you to travel along with me. I invite you to think about what I offer here. I invite you to ponder my words as a way of healing a nation under siege.
God's blessings on you.
