The Doctor

I have a cold or worse yet it might be flu

Oh whatever now what must I do

Feed it or starve it drink fluids or maybe not

These remedy yarns really don’t hit the spot

Maybe an aspirin or two or three

Oh whatever it takes to make this ick flee

My head is pounding so please make it stop

When I stand I’m so dizzy wow I’m a human top

Maybe it’s time I reach into the wisdom bag for a remedy

Oh it’s definitely time my inner ear screams to me

Time to head to a doctor a physician no less

For I need something to help me heal and let me get some rest

They’re the ones who are trained in what they practice

Oh look and see just how quick they’ve got a diagnoses

So too when we are in the grip of Satan and his ilk

We must remember to call our Healer Who can remedy our ills

Like our Lord who visited with thieves

Oh the wonder of it look he’s dining with them and looks pleased

Remember I came to heal and these vagrants need My care

I came not for the well but for those whose hope is gone it is no longer there

So too we should remember and very much rely

Oh listen closely to our Lord Jesus and here’s why

Only Jesus can offer healing for your hurts and sin

His Office is always open and Jesus our Physician He is always in

He is the only way we can be cured and enter Heaven

Oh that place of eternal joy and happiness the place for which we yearn

The only way to get there and to stay well here is to trust in Him always and everywhere

And remember to constantly offer Him our wills and our daily prayer
