Is Longevity Predetermined by God?
Abortion, A Woman’s Health Issue?
Eileen Renders
It occurs to me that abortion is not a woman’s health issue. Other than having an abortion, a woman may consider birth control pills, abstinence, or adoption. Is this not a baby’s health issue? Are they not the ones facing death without any other options?
These unborn babies are often referred to as fetuses as they were denied birth, or given a name. Another point I would like to make is that abortion is not a “woman’s God-given right” because it is their body. Was it not God who created woman, and allowed life to stir within the woman’s womb to grow and be allowed the same right to life as its mother had?
Today, these women are willing to go to Court to fight for their right to have an abortion. To be fair, do these babies have equal representation in a Court of Law? Yet if it is God who creates life, it is only he who has the right to take it away. Is murder not a sin, a crime?
Perhaps these women deny that there is a God who decides what is right and what is forbidden. This type of selfishness reminds me of the privileged children who would rather destroy something they cannot use, or have no use for, rather than give it to someone else who could appreciate and care for the item, be it a toy, or a piece of clothing they have outgrown.
Let us not forget the doctors who declare that the unborn baby has a rare disease and will not survive. My opinion says that these doctors cannot say 100% that the unborn fetus will die. And if it should have an uncertain death looming in its future, who can accurately say when that would occur? Why would a woman risk her life for an abortion because her baby may die? Could it be that she would rather take that chance to risk her life, rather than raise a baby who is ill, or try to save it should new medical technology come along in a few years?
As a woman myself, it appears that the world is not all that God intended it to be. Thinking only of one’s self is often the cause of divorce, murder, greed, wars, and more. In my mind, I see nothing as precious as the innocence and purity of a baby’s soul.
