December Feast Days
Every January, hundreds of thousands pro-lifers will descend in our nation’s capital to give voice for the voiceless. Sadly, many men are missing in action. It is troubling. Many would rather play games or come up with lame excuses as to why they don’t want to play a role in defending life.
In a recent tweet, Lila Rose stressed the importance of men involved in the pro-life movement. While the culture tells men to not have their hands in the issue, she encourages men to be more involved, “But men were designed to protect and fight for women and children.”
Men are needed now more than ever to step into the breach and defend every vulnerable woman and child that is targeted by the abortion industry.
Now, many reading are wondering as to why would someone like me with no uterus would “March for Life”.
Let me put this in blunt terms….
I march for men who were told to stand down, shut up, and cave to the lie. I march for women who need a strong man (not getting muscle from the gym) of faith that will lead her to the altar and not the bedroom for another hook up. I march for masculinity to help this nation raise up strong men and not weak boys who grow up to be soft on the real issues at hand.
I march for 1/3 of my peers who were murdered by the blood of selfishness for a culture of convenience. Some could’ve been my closest friends if they survived.
I march because as a 4th degree Knight of Columbus I am called to come to the aid of others. Knights are meant to charge into battle to fight the vices that is destroying our society with virtues, prayers, sacraments, and works of mercy.
I march for the helpless and weak as St. Teresa of Calcutta tells us, “We must be the voice of those who have none.” They may not be able to speak or vote. We must be their voice as we were once those without a voice before we even existed.
I march because I was nearly a statistic in 1989, yet my mother chose life despite pressure from her doctor to abort because of the age she conceived me and heard a woman’s selfish excuse to abort a baby due to the “wrong gender.” No one was created by accident.
I march because Mary conceived Jesus at an unexpected time. Yet, her trust and the “fiat” changed the shape of our history. Together with Joseph’s care, she bought forth the author of our life and salvation.
I march because the first to recognize Jesus in the womb was an unborn child (John the Baptist). He leaped for joy at the presence of the Lamb of God even before he was born.
I march for the homeless, unborn, those on death row, the refugee, immigrant, veteran suffering PTSD, those afflicted by mental illness who have no hope of living through another day.
I march for life.
Men, you are meant for so much more. Be courageous. Stand up. Man up for life.
