Heart And Soul
The Our Father
Eileen Renders January 2024
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name, (Let not other gods, power, or money come before thee)
thy kingdom come, thy will (Let not my will over-run my life) be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, (Let us give thanks to you Lord for each new day, and, each meal we receive)
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. (remembering that we must forgive others when we pray for forgiveness)
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, (as we pray and receive the sacraments) for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory (help us Lord to be humble and to surrender to thee) forever and ever Amen. (As I trust in thee)
When we pray to God, it is required that we focus on, and understand the meaning associated with each prayer. We should do so with sincerity, honesty, and a desire to give to God what He so desires of us. Always, God is listening not to what comes from our mouths, but to what is in our hearts.
