Today
I've got some friends in high places.Namely heaven. Did you know there is a saint for every ailment, disease or malfunction of the body in mind ready and waiting to help us in a jiffy.
Saint Apollonia is the patron saint of teeth
Saint Dominic of Silos is the patron of prisoners
Saint Genevieve is the patron saint of fevers
Saint Elizabeth Ann Seaton is the patron of widows and parents who have lost children
Saint Raymond is the patron saint of lawyers
Saint Christine is the patron saint of those with mental illness
Saint Alphonsus Ligouri is the patron of arthritis sufferers
I could go on and on... My point being, that God is so good to us. He has provided not only Himself but the intercessory of great humans to help us in all of our needs. They help us you know. We have to just know who to ask you.
I love learning the history of great people, and learning about each of the saints and their lives is wonderful reading and knowledge. I want to meet each and every one of them. I want to sit 1 on 1 and just listen to them as they talk about their lives. What courage and peace will emit from them.
We meet people daily or at least regularly that we don't even realize are saints walking among us. Did we realize Saint John Paul the Second or Carlos Acutis or Pierre Giorgio were "Saints" while they lived and walked around us? Yes, they acted with generosity and love of God, but I don't think it went too much more to greater extent then that.
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is, first of all, don't despair, because there is always "someone" in heaven you can ask to help you and if we keep our hearts and eyes open, we might just encounter a saint walking right beside us.
