Saint Hunna: The Holy Washerwoman and Patron Saint of Laundry Workers
Blessed Mother, you came 18 times to a poor, uneducated, sickly girl, Bernadette Soubirous starting in 1858 in Lourdes, France. You asked her to do something that appeared to be ridiculous, to drink from a spring, which was not there. Obediently, she began to dig in the gravel and ground, uncovering a small pool of water that within a day or two, became a stream. Many have traveled to Lourdes to step in that stream and ask your intercession for their healing and many prayers have been answered.
Today on this feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes, we ask for your intercession for healing of so many who are suffering through various physical and mental illnesses, addictions, and frightening oppression.
Give us the strength and courage to do the ridiculous to experience the miraculous.
Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us!
