Sacrifice
Have you ever walked into a home and smelt fresh baked cookies or bread fresh out of the oven? How about receiving some beautiful flowers where the petals are just dripping with the smell of fragrance? Or a precious baby right after her bath and smothered in baby lotion?
" The aroma of God". I imagine Heaven overflowing with every wonderful color and sweet alluring scent that could ever have been created. Enticing you to feel comforted like lavender and happy as the color blue. God's aroma will be majestic, fit for a King and regal in His presence. It will make you feel safe and sated that you are over the top content with a smile on your face. A feeling that will never leave your senses, is the "aroma of God" to me... Why else would he have created noses , except of course to breath. God' s purposes are multitascual. I don't think that's an actual word but I think you know what I mean.
Aromas, scents of all kinds are achieved by smelling and there is nothing better than to smell something sweet and alluring. I'll bet our Mother Mary couldn't get enough of that sweet baby Jesus. Holding Him to Her cheek and kissing that precious face of the Redeemer of the world.
Take a deep breath and notice the hundreds of sweet smelling aromas around you! You will be smelling the "Aroma of God". Enter into church on Easter and the smell of the lily's mixed with incense would be how I imagine it is in heaven after the angels rejoice in our Risen Lord.
The "Aroma of God" is everywhere. We just have to open our noses and smell them.
