Are You Bored, Or Motivated?
Eileen Renders February 2024
Boredom, we probably all can relate to that state of mind every once in a while. When it becomes more than a brief occurrence, we need to take a look at what the cause may be. Of course, life does come with unexpected disappointment, surgery, a stay in the hospital, finances stretched beyond our limit, and more. Therefore, it is reasonable to feel mentally exhausted at times, or even somehow blame ourselves thinking that we have failed in making the best decisions along the way. In fact, it is often during these times of feeling overwhelmed that we may feel that we are being tested. God may be telling us to re-examine our motives, the way we are addressing issues in our lives, or that we are not directing our energies where He wants us to.
Examining our mindset regarding our motives, actions, and decisions, we can give up our feelings of failure or inadequacy in prayer by giving it all up to God and praying for His direction in all things.
Often, we become bored with routine as we may be the type of people who require a challenge in life to motivate us, to create that power within us we know as energy. It may be time to set our goals higher, and go for it! Sometimes, we may be ready for a promotion or have worked in our field long enough that we might even try for a new job. Feelings of accomplishment are associated with our sense of self-worth.
By continuing to set new goals for ourselves we can stimulate energy that triggers motivation. One never knows what they might accomplish if they fail to try. Failure is not losing, it is not coming out on top, rather failure is when we tell ourselves that we cannot achieve, or meet the challenge without giving it our best shot. When we accept the challenge and take it on with all we have and see it through until the end, we are a winner. Regardless of whether we achieved the best results, or not.
Our Creator, our God did not create in us an infallibility in all things, He did create in us a free will that we might choose to do everything in life to the best of our ability for the glory of God.
