St Teresa
Jesus, my love, I see your face
All bruised and battered without a trace
Of flesh set aside as was all complete
For the eyes of your mother on Calvary to meet.
She saw that Face She used to tenderly kiss
Unrecognizable To her now Oh! that face that She'd miss
Till resurrection, His face then restored
To the beauty it had had, Once before
Oh! Holy Face of Jesus, lest we forget
All the people who saw you all the faces you met
Changed forever, Those eyes that beheld
The miracle Worker ,The man from the well
The curer of lepers, The riser of the dead
Now carries a Cross, with thorns upon his head
Oh! Precious Face of Jesus, Oh! Precious Blood
Dragged through the streets, Falling in the mud
Bruised and battered to save us all
Onward to Calvary , raised a crucifix tall.
So the world could see what all took place
May we always adore Thine Holy Face
