EXTRA-EXTRA-READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!
There is a song titled, "Peace in the Valley." The first line goes like this. "Oh, I’m tired and oh, so weary, but I must go along until the Lord comes and calls me away."
This explains how many of us feel nowadays who are on the older side. Or perhaps, who have been dealing with some sort of disability, or. caring for another, like children, parents, or even spouses who struggle with many problems.
We are so tired and we are so weary, but we must go along until the day comes, the Lord calls us away.
The chorus of the song, discribes what we long for. "Let there be peace in the Valley for me someday. Let there be peace in the Valley. Oh, Lord, I pray! No sadness, no sorrow no troubles will I see. There will be peace in the Valley for me." Oh, how we long for that time to come.
But, dear beloved because we believe God is with us now, we can have that peace now. Not someday as the chorus states. We can have God‘s peace, anytime that we take a breath into our body and imagine Jesus blowing peace to us.
A beautiful kiss of "peace be with you and receive the Holy Spirit." He did that when he came through locked doors and spoke those words to the apostles.
What doors are locked to your heart? What anger is built up a hard wall? What is keeping you from truly knowing the presence of the peace of Jesus Christ our Lord in your life this moment--right now? What worries what anxieties or is it unforgiveness? The emotions we are harboring inside will keep you from knowing the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ NOW.
It is our choice beloved. It is our choice. Do we choose to have the presence of the peace of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our hearts or, do we continue to harbor worries, anxieties, anger, hate, bitterness, resentment, or even sadness because we are so unhappy with life. Our choice.
So let us begin right now, to decide what stands in our way that blocks the door that keeps God from coming in. "Ask and you shall receive," Jesus said. "Knock, and the door will be opened, and seek, and you will find." That is our Lord's promise to us. So, let us draw away be silent, be still take a big deep breath. Then, say, "Come on in God, come on in. I need Your help, Your peace now! Thank you for giving me Your love always if I just let you. Come into my heart, please Lord, right now: this moment, today. Not someday, Lord, but today. Thank You God. Oh, how I need You, my dear Lord."
