Jesus Baptism, the Anointed Messiah
Each one's temptation is unique-
to decide upon the things to seek.
It is an intersection on the road,
to determine one's future abode.
My desert was a mountain top
knowing not exactly what it was I sought.
It was to be a sacred journey
leading to a cross above the town of Medjugorge.
It was there along the way
Jesus and I had much to say.
"Are you here for curiosity?
Or is it that you seek my luminosity?"
"Is your heart as heavy as stone?
Or is it Me you want to own?
I will give you riches, so you can stray;
ease and youth also will let you play."
"If all you want is worldly bread,
information I will put into your head.
Here you must decide your glory
upon this ledge in Medjugorge."
I looked far below so I could see-
I envisioned all it was I could be.
Tears formed into my eyes
as one called Satan showed me a world in disguise.
My faith muscles, weak from disuse,
knew the virtues I was prone to abuse.
My heart I have kept alone on a shelf.
"Oh yes", I think," I have need of His help."
"Feed me," I say, "Of heavenly bread.
Every day, your manna, that’s what I need.
Living water, I too, must know
because my soul has sunk so low."
"MY child," my loving Savior cries;
"It is my pleasure to channel grace within your eyes.
My angels too will keep you from all harm.
I will always shelter you within my strong arm."
My step is firm as I go forward
to continue my walk now that I am armed;
toward a confession, where I will repent
of the dissolute life I have spent.
