Sometimes, laws get usurped to fight authentic marriage and the sanctity of human life!

It is not income inequality or race or school quality, but the amount of kids living in single parent families that best predicts whether a poor kid will be a poor adult!
The 1970s saw dramatic increases in the divorce rate and single parenthood. Along with the heinous Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision was a dramatic downturn in the marriage rate. We are still victimized by that time period with some failing to even realize the abusive impact that divorce has on children!
We have a vested interest in revitalizing marriage and family life, but it often seems that our Pope and many other Catholic leaders are instead obsessed with normalizing domestic situations that we were always told ran contrary to God's will - to say nothing of the detriment to those involved.
We need our Holy Father and others to demonstrate an acutely improved understanding of God's gift of authentic marriage/family (cf, Get Married, 2/14/24).
