Living In The Present
Conversing With Jesus
Eileen Renders March 2024
Jesus created a filial relationship between His Mother and us as noted in the bible in John 19:26-27 when He saw both His mother and His beloved disciple John standing by saying; “Woman, behold your son!” then He said to His beloved disciple John; "Behold thy mother!”
A filial relationship meaning is; of or due from a son, or daughter, such as in devotion, respect, loyalty, or love. Therefore, if we are disciples and followers of Christ whom Jesus also loves, we too can call the mother of Christ, our mother.
In so doing, Jesus gives us also the privilege of thinking of Jesus as our Savior, our God, our brother, and our friend. A Savior and creator who loves us so much that He wants us to give love and be loved as family. We must give Jesus the obedience, respect, honor, loyalty, and love that He so much deserves.
Yet, we have also been given the privilege of speaking to Jesus every day as we would our earthly family. Sharing our concerns, sorrows, and confusions that are part of our lives, thanking Him for being there for us in every way, and asking Him to guide us, lead us, and correct us when we are headed in the wrong direction as a big brother would do.
With respect and gratitude for all of God’s many blessings, we go to church, we pray Rosaries and Our Father prayers often as we are called to do so. And when we have days, or nights when we are distracted, worried, and just need to talk and be assured that God is always there for us listening to our heart's request for comfort, love, and mercy, we can just talk to him from the privacy of our hearts and inner thoughts and know that He hears us and truly cares. He wants us to come to Him when we feel heartbroken, lost, or confused.
Sometimes, I like to feel that I pray to our Blessed Mother and offer my prayers up to her to be utilized in her time and for her wishes. I pray to God with honor and gratitude, giving thanks for all His many graces and blessings received throughout my life. But, when I just need to know that He is there listening to me pour my heart out to Him in confidence, I just want to talk to Him.
