Music Can Add Richness and Meaning to Bible Readings
"If I see a black person walking around with Trump's mug shot, I'm gonna punch him in the face," blurted Charles Barkley, a once-famous large man who was known to do really cool things with a basketball, in a recent conversation with CNN's Gayle King.
"I mean that sincerely," he added, to make sure everyone knew he was serious.
What, you might ask yourself, would prompt Sir Charles to say something so stupid? It is actually depressing to see someone who once upon a time was a role model to millions of young people so beclown himself.
It is actually a sign that, having lost the argument and seeing no hope of recreating a new one, Charles, like the typical bully, or Progressive (which is really the same thing) resorts to violence. We have seen this numerous times in the past few years. People who don't get their way burn down neighborhoods, loot stores and destroy other people's property.
It's like the spoiled child that throws a tantrum over a piece of broccoli or asparagus. Savvy moms and dads know that when you give in to a kid throwing a tantrum they never stop. They will do it again and again. So it is with Charles.
Actually Charles is wrong in so many ways I'm not sure I can count them all. Perhaps he is following the philosophy of the great Mike Tyson, who said "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth." Words of wisdom indeed.
A punch in the mouth might be a good thing and I can think of quite a few people whose attitudes would be significantly improved with a good left jab. But to pick out a whole class of people for this type of treatment is inconsiderate and perhaps even rude.
Charles seems to say that black people, of which he is a fine example, cannot think for themselves or stray from the Democrat fold without risk of violence. Let us remember his words if Sir Donald of Trump is properly elected as the next Commander in Chief of our fine land. Will Charles be indicted for fomenting an insurrection? Will the rioters be repeating his mantra: "Vote for Trump get a punch?"
Charles, here's my advice: Sit down and shut up before you make an even bigger fool of yourself.
The other big fool (I'm being kind) we have to point out is the loudmouth called Jamie Raskin. This Democrat from Maryland is throwing a childish tantrum because he is unhappy with the Supreme Court for unanimously nixing all efforts to kick Donald Trump off the ballot. That's 9-0 Jamie, case you can't count noses, all nine of them, Democrat and Republican, white and black and etc., all in agreement. All of them duly selected by the Chief Executive and confirmed by the Senate, all in their flowing robes and regalia.
And now you, Jamie the Mighty, come marching in to tell them they're wrong. Chutzpa is it? Or just plain Hubris? Anyway you look at it it's nuts.
Here's why Jamie. And I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, since you should know how the House of Representatives works. The speaker has the sole right to determine what comes up for discussion in the House and there's no way your idiotic childish stunt will even be considered. I doubt that even members of your own party would want to touch something so dumb.
But here again we have the radical lunatic fringe of the Democrat gang all sad and unhappy and mad cuz they didn't get their way. And instead of sitting down and planning another strategy (which would involve thinking instead of punching) their either gonna change the rules or take their ball and go home.
No wonder the approval rating for Congress is in single digits.
