What are you willing to give up to get closer to Jesus?
No, that does not mean listen to me. Listen to God. (although you can continue reading too) It’s God’s will that you are seeking to accomplish. We cannot just start doing and thinking or hoping that it is God’s will, just because what we are doing seems good.
But what I am doing is good. So what?! Do you know that it is God’s will for you? Ah, that is the crux of the issue. It may be good, but is it what God wants from you? We “are one body in Christ” [Romans 12:5], but we are not the same members of His body. Each member is different and performs a different function.
There is only one you. God gave you a piece of His will to do that no one else can fulfill. You are the only one blessed with all of the uniqueness that is you, along with your place in life. Trust me, even my 2 month old identical twin boys have differences that we noticed very quickly.
So, what is God’s will for you? Well, this is were we begin. Listen! Go to prayer and just listen. Lay down your desires and thoughts and listen to Him. “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.” [1 Samuel 3:9]
