Dear Friend
Just because someone dies, doesn't mean their light is gone. Unless of course, that person receives eternal damnation and then of course, it is surely out.
The Souls in Purgatory still have their light. Whether it be in remembrance of them in casual talk or a memory of sweetness that comes to mind. They will still see and rejoice in the Holy Face of God someday according to God's judgement.
It is necessary and profiting to our own souls to pray regularly and have masses said for our beloved dead. Their light is still shining in Purgatory. The sweet mercy of God who is all knowing enough to have made a place for those who get a second chance.
Their glimmering light can be felt by them and us both. Sad as they are, not being able to partake fully in the Majesty of heaven but still filled with gratitude as they await their sentence to end. With their name laid on the altar, it is like a salve to their wounds. Healing them each time the Host is raised in their name. Our prayers are like music to the air which is dismal in their surroundings. Lifting them up and up until they reach the end of their suffering..
I love the Holy Souls in Purgatory. I vow to pray and remember them daily and it gives my heart comfort knowing their benefiting, even just a little bit.
Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious Blood of your dearly beloved Son, Jesus Christ. In union with all of the masses said throughout the world today. For all of the Holy Souls in Purgatory. For sinners everywhere. For sinners in the universal Church. Those in my own home and in my own family. Amen.
