History: Valid or Hyperbole?
What is the old adage; “those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” It has been around since 1905 from a book by Georges Santayana. This phrase has been used by countless politicians, philosophers, and people who just want to make a point in speaking about the future.
As we look beyond the coming events that may dictate our close future of peace, or the destruction of it, we are reminded that in a finite environment where too many differences in adherence to economical systems that promote selfishness among leaders will create mayhem at the drop of a hat.
Again, using our nation and its early leaders that established a rule of government free from the one they’d escaped from and won through their insistence of patriotism. Herein, we have survived attacks by knowing how and when to fight back in order to retain the freedoms that are exclusive to the United States.
But, as we now see how there are factions roaming in the halls of justice that wish to remove the very freedoms we now enjoy; (many of them are eroding, not from age but men with evil intentions) and are being called upon to stand up and fight for our God-given rights.
Can anyone think of the moments when we didn’t need to worry what each day would bring as the sun rose in the east, brightened the sky with pleasantness and allowed us to roam the streets without harm or tyranny? I know I cannot and even now in this century we still have hope of peace that seems to elude many of our citizens. Is it any wonder that with the instant communications that is an integral probability of our daily lives reaching the farthest points on the planet in minutes, and many in seconds, can create either peace or war, depending on who holds the keys to tear down anything in their way?
We are on the edge of an exploding reality that has the power to change everything in a nanosecond. However, it isn’t just the world powers that may accomplish this phenomenon, there is a fear that the Church may also be the main thrust of this attack on humanity. Reiterating Pau’s prediction: “For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits of the heavens.” (Eph 6: 12).
Putting all the nations on the planet that could enter a 3rd World War, we cannot forget Satan is at the helm of creating unrest to the furthest degree of destruction, beginning with the Church of Jesus Christ. In the Garden of Gethseminee when Jesus was at his weakest moment and sweat drops of blood, Satan’s final attack that he promised in the desert (when the devil had finished every temptation, he departed from him. For a time) that time is now, twenty-one centuries later in history. (Lk 4: 13).
Roman Catholic Churches, Protestant churches, and many believers in Christ are at a low ebb of faith. One soul whose faith is compromised is one soul closer to Satan’s promise of bringing God’s Church to a final end. However, his promise was destroyed the moment Jesus died on the Cross, because our salvation was now declared finished (It is finished) (Jn 19: 30).and the hope of Satan tearing that down was now null and void.
What you and I must accomplish is trusting in the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ, to show each of us the manner of fighting back, spiritually. “Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power. Put on the armor of God so that you might be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil.” (Eph 6: 10 - 11).
There was no defeat of the Church over 2,000 years and there must not be any resemblance of that now. We are the soldiers of Christ and our marching orders are found in a faith that must not crumble! Finally, be strong
