Secrets of the Monstrance
If you're like me, you are not a member of the Royals of England fan club. That's ok and totally understandable given the constant spotlight that the media shines on their lives. However, when we strip away the fame and the elite status created for them, you find real people who are susceptible to real problems. The truth is she's a mom of three young kids and a wife. She's also a sister and daughter.
She's not an actress in a fairy tale story.
Surely, we can all relate to her on a human level. This is why, by the way, I am only referring to her as Kate Middleton.
If you haven't viewed Kate Middleton's announcement that she has stomach cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy...she ends with a word of hope and a word of encouragement for all cancer victims. She wanted them to know they were not alone in their struggle. I thought her announcement was graceful and hit the perfect tone of hope and concern. Her concern for others came across as genuine. For that I am motivated to keep her and her family in prayer.
There's a patron Saint Peregrine Laziosi who himself suffered under the heavy weight of the cross of cancer. Perhaps on the threshold of all of the festivities of this upcoming Holy Week we can add one more prayer for nine straight days. Let's let the spotlight shine on God's healing love and mercy and let us pray for a total miraculous healing. Beginning today March 22 through March 31, Easter Sunday pray the prayer below.
Here's the prayer...
Prayer to Saint Peregrine
O great St. Peregrine, you have been called 'Mighty' and 'The Wonder-Worker', because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.
For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fibre of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favoured with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.Kate Middleton
Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy.
Amen.
