5 Ways to Protect Yourself From The Enemy
“All of you will have your faith shaken,” Jesus tells the disciples the day before His Passion. Have you had your faith shaken by suffering?
If you’re enduring suffering that doesn’t seeem to be resurrected and you’ve prayed all the prayers you can pray and sought all the solutions and healing that could possibly help, you’ve likely experienced your faith shaken.
Why would God lead me to this desert place to never alleviate my suffering and answer my prayer?
As for me, I’ve prayed countless prayers for years. I’ve prayed all the novenas. I’ve sought all the healings. I’ve done it all and not one has led me to the healing I desire. I truly don’t know what God is doing with all of this suffering. I've watched others get answered prayers while mine lingers. My faith is not gone, but it is shaken.
Suffering shakes our faith, whether enduring our own long-suffering or watching someone close to us endure their's. Suffering shook the disciples’ faith as Jesus carried His cross and was led to death. They couldn’t imagine what was happening and why God was doing this, and they didn’t expect to have their faith shaken. They thought it could withstand anything. We tend to think that too until it happens from all the suffering we face and see in our lives.
So what do we do with a shaken faith this Holy Week? I think we live through it just as the disciples did, we watch and wait, we repent of our mistakes and little faith, and hopefully that third day will eventually come for us too some day in some way.
