Supervisor in faith
I used to get up every morning, and the first thing I would do was check my phone. I would get sucked in, and before I knew it, ten minutes would have passed by. This would cause me to kick into high gear and rush to work on time. I took a step back and asked myself why do I do that?
I realized that any message I received overnight or early in the morning would still be there for me to reply to later. Why should I start the day off with them?
I decided to implement a new rule: I would not check my phone for the first hour from the time I woke up every weekday morning. What should I do with this newfound ten minutes? I decided to pray ten Hail Marys.
I now wake up and turn off my alarm, then close my eyes and pray ten hail Mary’s. This short decade of prayers helps me transition from being asleep to being awake, and it’s far more relaxing than scrolling through my phone. I’ve decided to start my day by working on my soul rather than taking the time to scroll.
