Meditations on the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary - The Visitation
A Lenten lamentation in key of A, reflecting our sadness and sorrow as we recall past sins, even as we give thanks and praise for our joy, knowing Christ recreates us again and again through His forgiveness and His redeeming grace. (Written March 2017)
(In A Minor)
I have
No desire, Lord,
But to love You.
Show me Your way.
My soul,
Like hot burning sand, Lord.
Parched. Dry.
Barren of life.
Apart from You
Life has no meaning.
No joy. No light.
No health in me.
You know my heart, Lord.
It’s too full of hardness.
Too worldly.
Too empty of You.
***
(Transition to A Major)
Yet here You are, Lord,
Your arms wrapped around me.
Lighting my way.
Guiding me home.
Loving me clean, Lord.
Forgiving me all things.
Fill me with wonder.
Make me your own.
***
(In A Minor)
You know my heart, Lord.
It’s too full of darkness.
Too proud.
Too sure.
My sins, Lord,
Have brought tears and sadness.
Flayed Your precious flesh, Lord,
At Calvary
***
(Transition to A Major)
But still Your love, Lord,
So undeserved.
Washes us clean
With Your blood.
And here I am, Lord,
Protected in Your embrace
My life lived for You.
Let Your light shine through me.
Show me Your face.
(Finish with an A Minor chord)
