He Had To

He had to do this in the tomb over a day

His friends so sad in such pain and dismay

Their Hope destroyed for He was their Lord

Now crushed by his demise and silent not a word

He had to do this He had to die

His friends a wreck they didn’t understand why

But today that will all end

Mary of Magdala will be the first to comprehend

She will call Peter and John

And Mary for this was her Son

He had to do it

There was no way out

He tried to explain

But it would not register in their brain

But now they see and do understand

Their Lord is alive and here on this earth

No longer in the ground buried beneath rock and sand

But in front of their eyes a miraculous rebirth

Our Lord is arisen

Heaven’s door finally open

Alleluia Amen let the Angels sing

Glorious songs of praise for their King

Alleluia Amen forever eternally

Our Jesus is alive for all eternity
