The Carmelite Order
I have been battling the elation of Easter since reading the "24 hours of His passion". It's a book that recounts in Jesus's own words everything that happened to HIM, starting from the Last Supper, all the way up to His Crucifixion. Woe to mankind if you don't realize the torture and sorrow He felt from every aspect of His cruel treatment. The sorrow He felt in saying His last goodbye to His Mother Mary, to describing what each slap, trample, push and humility meant for and to His Most Precious Heart. Feeling unworthy to place myself beside Him as the book suggests , you become overwhelmed with pity and sorrow at the thought of your sins ever doing something so harsh and nonstop.
But today at Mass, the joy and peace of knowing He has accomplished what He set out to do, which was to redeem us and become the new Adam, made my heart smile, knowing that I and the world have such a Good and ALL Powerful God....The "Joy of Easter" each year grows more and more tender and dearer to my soul and fills my whole being wiith Gratitude. The hardships and pains we go through are tough, but not tougher then carrying that Cross.
Thank you my Jesus , my God, for filling me, with the "Joy of Easter".
