And God said, "Get going!"
"Be your self," they said. "It'll be fun!" they said. But what does being yourself really entail? Does it mean I should do whatever my heart desires me to do? Or does it mean do whatever God created me to do? Can it mean both? I think if a person does what God created them to do, that person just might be on the road to fulfilling their heart's deepest desire; their desire to be a true child of God. And what happens when we receive both what we desire and what we need? We (hopefully) begin to be content. Our hearts start to sing, our minds begin to focus on what really matters, and our souls find their way home. In short, to be your true self, the being that God intended, it to come face to face with Joy.
Remember Jesus' response, "...I AM," (John 8:58) when they asked Him who He was? Next time you feel overwhelmed about not knowing who you are or what you believe, think of Jesus' words. Meditate on the fact that He did not need to add any details. He simply IS.
