Are You Bored, Or Motivated?
Living In The Present
Eileen Renders April 2024
For many reasons, sometimes dissatisfaction, or expectations, we tend to think of the future as the answer to our dreams come true. This can cause us to dismiss our past experiences and what lessons we may have learned from them as we tend to look to the future.
Keeping hope in our thoughts, and faith nourished in our hearts and souls is addressing our stability and nourishing our spirit for an eternity one day in heaven with Christ when He whispers our name saying; “Come to Me.”
However, it is essential to our daily reality to live today as tomorrow will come soon enough. By living today we can see and properly deal with those issues, be they small or large, that require our immediate attention. Each day as we arise, is a good time to reflect upon who that we love may be ill, and need a little loving support. Often, we can overlook those subtle words of a friend who is struggling to pay the Bills as he, or she has lost their job. Can we afford to make a worthy donation and kind words of support? Have we taken a few moments to tell God that we love Him and ask Him to remain with us throughout the day, and have we thanked our spouse for all of their unending love and support?
There can be no tomorrow without a today. And it is the way we travel through each day that God gives us that will provide a better tomorrow for each of us. This is true because we will have a deeper relationship with Christ and a better understanding and acceptance of the possibility that none of us is promised a “tomorrow.”
The happiest and most contented people on earth are those who are happy with what they have. Those who are always seeking more seem never to be satisfied, or content. Consider that each of our lives is in part, a testament of who we are at the core. Do we seek to serve others for the joy of God’s blessings and graces, or do we long to achieve success and acknowledgment from others around us? Do we need to be looked up to for what we have gained?
We all can attest to how good it feels when we can give at Christmas and see the joy and pleasure we can give to someone else. When we do good for the sake of others, God refills our cup so that we may continue to give.
It is wise to keep in mind that life is truly a Test, an opportunity to prepare ourselves for our exit from this life. And who among us does not wish for a peaceful death feeling the very presence of God beside us, ready to take us home to paradise?
