In the Beginning was Light
In the “noon time” of life we shall meet the Lord!
Time as used in the bible is a method of describing something to be accomplished, as in Abraham being told that Sarah would conceive a child, in the time to come. Time, however, is a human trait signifying the use of semantics for human beings. Since none of us is readily in eternity yet, where time does not exist, we continue to express the need for making time to accomplish human activities.
In Ecclesiastes, Solomon used that term frequently to describe for human understanding a time for everything; “There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot the plant. A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to tear down, and a time to rebuild. A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather them; a time to embrace, and a time to be far from embraces. A time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away. A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to be silent, and a time to speak. A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.” (Eccl 3: 1 - 8).
Perhaps we all need to keep these vanities close by in their abstraction of thought as Solomon listed them: “Vanity of vanities, says Qoheleth, vanity of vanities! All things are vanity! What profit has man from all his labor which he toils at under the sun? One generation passes and another comes, but the world forever stays.” (Eccl 1: 2 -4
It is the truth that God has extended his word to mankind by promising a time (in human understanding) when our souls will meet him at a predetermined moment, either when we pass away, or in the not too distant future where many of us through the Rapture preceding the seven years of Tribulation. These attributes will become a reality for all of us, in our own period of time as we know life.
This moment in time you and I are going to be called forth from this earth at a time none of us can predict. In this time of living with no perception of what’s ahead will in fact meet with an angel in a timely fashion and that time unknown to everyone, will in fact have our closed eyes opened in time to meet with our Lord.
