A reflection on the shortest Psalm
"Honour thy father and thy mother, that thou mayest be longlived upon the land which the Lord thy God will give thee." (Exodus 20:12)
Thank you,Dad, for the short time we had together.
Thank you for being the best father I could have asked for.
Thank you for spending the time with me you did.
Thank you for being a good example of a caring husband, and a loving father.
Thank you for teaching me what it's like to be a man.
Thank you for showing me what it's like to love.
Thank you for showing me what it's like suffer.
Thank you for giving me half of my DNA.
Thank you for the hard work you've done for me and my siblings.
Thank you, for being my Dad.
"Honour thy father and mother, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee, that thou mayest live a long time, and it may be well with thee in the land, which the Lord thy God will give thee". (Deuteronomy 5:16).
Thank you, Dad.
Rest in peace, Michael Eugene Hovey, 23 February 1952-16 April 1997.
