Welcome Home, New Catholics
Taylor Swift may be labeled America’s “National Treasure”. She has surpassed the billion-dollar worth for celebrities. She has come a long way from being innocent. She has been the subject of many rumors surrounding her and NFL superstar Travis Kelce who has been a key part of the Chiefs dynasty this decade.
But, like many artists in today’s music industry, she has fallen prey to the influence of Satan. If someone were to scold her in front of her fans, the swifties would gang up on the person or people like banshees. Her latest album has recently been released after 18 months and a long World Eras tour. It is safe to say that Swift has gone too far with her music. It is even deemed anti-God.
Here are just a few examples of the lyrics in some of her songs in her latest release that may be climbing the charts at the time of this article’s publication.
“They shook their heads saying, ‘God help her’ /
When I tell them he's my man (I told them he's my man) /
But your good lord didn't need to lift a finger /
I can fix him, no, really I can (no, really I can)”
“But daddy I love him / I just learned these people only raise you / To cage you / Sarahs and Hannahs in their Sunday best / Clutchin' their pearls, sighing, ‘What a mess’ / I just learned these people try and save you ‘Cause they hate you”
?? “God save the most judgmental creeps / Who say they want what's best for me / Sanctimoniously performing soliloquies I'll never see / Thinkin' it can change the beat / Of my heart when he touches me / And counteract the chemistry / And undo the destiny / You ain't gotta pray for me / Me and my wild boy and all of this wild joy / If all you want is gray for me / Then it's just white noise, and it's just my choice”
?? “What if I roll the stone away? / They're gonna crucify me anyway / What if the way you hold me is actually what's holy?”
?? “The smallest man who ever lived / I would've died for your sins.”
These lyrics go to show that she has little to no knowledge or understanding on what Christianity is or even who Jesus is. Now, it may be easy to say that we shouldn’t judge her. Agreeable. At the same time, Swift needs to be prayed for.
The lyrics show that she at one point was betrayed by those who claim to be Christian, yet those self-righteous people have caused her pain. However, God should never be mocked.
We must pray for artists like Taylor Swift who needs to embrace the arms of God and seek his mercy now.
