Were You there when God created each of us; Magnificent Creatures are we!
As I look beyond the mist of life, what is it that is calling me?
Waking up from a blurry sleep and noting something is trying to attract my attention. I can see an image that seems to invite me but without a solid understanding of what it is. I move beyond the need to understand its call.
As my immediate requirements of work and family obligations got my attention my mind reverts back to whatever seemed to lurk before me this morning. Somewhere there must have been a dream that left me wondering what I saw but now became a blank as most dreams usually do.
After a long day our responsibilities came to an end and the bed seemed to say it's time to relax and forget the day’s requirements. I agreed but the thought of this morning’s blurred vision gnawed at my mind and caused me some questions about why this prior image caught my attention.
Hoping that this entity, whatever it could be, would be revealed in a manner that would give me some hope of a missing reality I’ve been looking for. My life lately has had too many dark sides and I asked God to give me some peace and a hope for a better outlook on life.
It was some time after falling asleep that a light shone through the window and suddenly it was there; A cross fully illuminated with the light behind it making no doubt that there he was; Jesus hanging with angels surrounding his body with horns blowing with a melody that removed any fears that would have frightened me. The image lasted only a second or two and left me feeling like a rose that just opened its petals to let the sun give me new life.
When I woke up, the vision that I dreamed left no question that I was not in my room, but on a pedestal at Calvary and the Lord said to me in my heart the darkness would now be a past problem and it was to this image of Jesus on the Cross that must now become my mantra.
The Cross of Jesus sends the light of God to anyone who will come and kneel with all of their sins, and bathe in the light which is his precious blood pouring out of his Sacred Heart. to reveal the everlasting love of his Father upon anyone who will dedicate their belief in what this vision entails.
No longer will I doubt the complete effort of his Passion for me alone is real and occurs each time I pick up a cross. Each time I pick up a rosary or view my crucifix on the wall of my bedroom the sense of that day on Good Friday resonates on my mind and touches my own heart knowing that I was there, standing alone in the darkness with the light of Almighty God surrounding me with the light of grace; forgiveness and his mercy guiding me home.
