3-Step Action Plan for Lent
THE TRIDUUM OF THE SACRED HEARTS
1. FIRST FRIDAY - MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS
May 3, 2024
The first Friday of each month was designated by Jesus himself as consecrated to honoring his Sacred Heart, to increase our love for Him in Holy Communion by receiving Our Lord Jesus Christ on first Friday and to make reparation for past and present offenses against His love. Those that keep the first Friday devotion receive 12 promises (see below).
“Behold this Heart which has so loved men that it has spared nothing, even to exhausting and consuming itself in order to testify to its love! And in return, I receive from the greater part only ingratitude, by their irreverence and sacrilege, and by the coldness and contempt they have for Me in this Sacrament of Love. …
“I feel this more than all that I suffered during My Passion. If only they would make Me some return for My Love, I should think but little of all I have done for them and would wish, were it possible, to suffer still more. But the sole return they make for all My eagerness to do them good is to reject Me and treat Me with coldness. Do you at least console Me by supplying for their ingratitude, as far as you are able.”
(Revelations of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque)
How to Complete the Nine First Fridays
On the first Friday of nine consecutive months, receive Holy Communion with the intention of honoring and making reparation for offenses against the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Our Lord longs to find special expressions of our love for Him on the First Friday of each month. Your fervent Holy Communion, as a special act of reparation and love to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, will greatly console Our Lord for the ingratitude and outrages that He endures for our sake in the Blessed Sacrament!

2. FIRST SATURDAY - IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY
May 4, 2024
“Look My daughter, at My Heart, surrounded with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce Me at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. You at least try to console Me and announce in My name that I promise to assist at the moment of death, with all the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the First Saturday of five consecutive months, shall confess, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary, and keep Me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making Reparation to Me.” - Our of Lady of Fatima to Sister Lucia
Five Elements of the First Saturday Devotion
Every First Saturday, we should:
Our world faces an unprecedented political, economic, social, moral, and spiritual crisis for which there is no human solution. God loves us and foresaw these times. In 1917, He sent the Blessed Virgin Mary to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal with Heaven’s solution.

3. FIRST WEDNESDAY - MOST CHASTE HEART OF SAINT JOSEPH
May 1, 2024
Wednesdays are dedicated to Saint Joseph, but especially the first Wednesday of the month where you can offer your Holy Communion to his Most Chaste Heart that he would continue to intercede and protect you and your family.
The Practice of the Nine First Wednesdays
A Devotion Promulgated by the Pious Union of St. Joseph
Every Wednesday is dedicated in a special way to St. Joseph. Make the Nine First Wednesdays [in a manner similar to the Nine First Fridays of the Sacred Heart] in honor of St. Joseph for a happy death, for yourself and your dear ones. As charity is one of the best ways to be worthy of the grace of a happy death, offer your First Wednesday Mass and Communion and devotions in honor of St. Joseph in a special way for the salvation of the dying, most especially for an undying sinner who is to lose his soul without the grace of final repentance.
Our Lord permits St. Joseph to take from His Divine treasury with full hands in order to give souls the treasures of Divine grace and mercy, like Joseph, the son of Jacob, who took corn from the granaries of the King of Egypt to feed his brethren and all who had recourse to him. From the heights of Heaven, the King of Glory speaks to us the same words as Pharao spoke to the starving people of Egypt: "Go to Joseph."
