HUMILITY ~ ~ WHAT IS IT? HOW CAN WE ATTAIN IT
A Soul Departs the Body Embarking Upon A Three-Day Journey Into The Dark Abyss
Eileen Renders
We have learned through Christ’s time and teachings while on earth, that though He must leave us, He sends to us The Holy Spirit. Jesus left behind His life on earth after completing His Father’s request. Jesus’ mission was to teach, and ultimately sacrifice His life through His crucifixion and death on the cross. We were given free will to choose good, or evil. God, or Satan.
We have learned that when we die, our soul leaves the body, and will be judged according to the choices we have made in our lives, and whether or not we die in the state of grace. Jesus also promised that at the end of time of times when He returns once more to earth, all will be judged a final judgment. Souls already in heaven, and those still living on earth will enter into heaven after the final judgment, will be reunited with their body.
As to what happens immediately upon our death, I believe most of us contemplate, often in fear. We are not taught by God what happens between the time we die, and our soul leaves the body while we are awaiting our fate through the judgment of God.
What I would choose to believe about that time is that when our soul leaves or body after death (like Jesus, our soul is suspended in darkness for 3 days). We are drifting in a dark abyss. We may even call to mind that beautiful prayer;
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me lie down in green pastures. He leadeth me beside still waters.
He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine
enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
In these 3-days of darkness, before our soul is raised and judged, we may feel lonely and
Isolated or forsaken, If we have spent our time on earth working for Christ, time with Him in prayer and meditation, asking for Him to increase our trust, we may spend those 3 days in anticipation and joy knowing that Jesus will be reaching out for us shortly to guide us on our journey home.
