The Candle is Still Lit
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. 4 different men compared to each other with a purpose. A Saving. A Testimony. If you read and listen to each ones Gospels, they're similar, but have constant differences that are characteristics of each individual.
After watching the series " the Chosen", my insight is much better. I can understand and relate to them easier. My favorite part is that they were ordinary people who Jesus hand picked coming there from the knowledge of God the Father. It never fails. If God's hand is in it, it's going to be good!
Thinking of Matthew as somewhat autistic and a perfectionist helps me visualize what a day walking around with Christ was like. Shy, being a past tax collector, the pretentiousness of his past job, makes it so wonderful to write about the life of Jesus.
Notice, in all works from these Holy Apostles, there are some things said with the same mannerisms. Like the Birth of Christ, or the Holy Passion. They were all watching but interpreted each moment oh so differently. When you think of the fear each Apostle had at certain times during Jesus's public speaking, it's a little scary. The Romans were still going strong and they're fading out caused rebellion, and narcissism was being pushed and most weren't going down without a fight.
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, could probably not believe their eyes and ears at the things Jesus was doing! I know personally, I would probably freak out if I saw someone raised up again after dying. You know they saw Jesus covered in blood after praying in the Garden of Gethsemane. When someone falls asleep out of stress and fear it doubles when you wake. Seeing something that is not of your knowledge, would probably be quite disconcerting.
John, faithful Apostle. The only 1 out of all of the 12 to stand by our Mother Mary at the foot of the cross. How perfect a predestined act to be the one to take care of Her for the rest of Her life.
Luke, the Doctor. Science and Faith do not go together too easily. Yet Luke is the most tenderest with his choice of words, especially when speaking of Mary.
Mark, a plain hard working fisherman. What was it that made him get chosen to write such an important chapter in the world's greatest book?
All 4. Perfectly picked. I want to get into the Bible Gospels more. I just love Biographies, Love stories, Adventure and compassionate writing.. But most of all, true stories.
The Holy Bible has all of just that! God is good....
