A Sign of Contradiction (John 15:19)
When you take a stand for #Christ and openly live your faith in the world, you can expect to be treated with contempt and hatred by those who are held hostage by the world.
They can't understand what you're doing or why you're doing it.
That doesn't mean it's not important to take that stand. You are meant to be a living #SignofContradiction.
Love - the action, not the emotion - begins to color everything you say and do. You choose to work for the highest possible good of those around you even when - especially when - they don't deserve it and haven't earned it.
You know that whatever you may go through at their hands, it's just a small fraction of what Christ went through for you.
Loving the broken, the lost, the shunned, the angry, the spiteful, the hateful, the ungrateful, and the envious is hard...until you remember when that was you, before you knew Christ.
Then, you find compassion for the things you know they're going through ad you choose to love them anyway. You know they're fighting a battle with no armor and no weapons, and they're losing. So you pray for them, and you pray that God will use you to reach them.
