The Acorn
Away I Must Go
He told them that He must go
Where it was they could not know
Mourning and weeping at first yes
But soon their tears would joyfully regress
Away away I must ascend
To My Father’s Palace in Heaven
My Spirit to you will I send
To help you not to offend
They didn’t understand these Apostles
Neither did their believers the disciples
How could they grasp again
Another oddity of their Friend to ascend
Away away I must ascend
To My Father’s Palace in Heaven
My Spirit to you will I send
To help you not to offend
His Advocate He promised to all
The believers the non the big and small
To Him you must pray and listen
For He knows the path to your salvation
Away away I must ascend
To My Father’s Palace in Heaven
My Spirit to you will I send
To help you not to offend
Follow His commands for they are truly mine
Follow and one day at My table will you dine
Forever unburdened and joyfully
With Us in Heaven the Blessed Trinity
Away away I must ascend
To My Father’s Palace in Heaven
My Spirit to you will I send
To help you not to offend
Amen
