The term evil, is it a thought or is it a realism?
Justice served; How will we be represented?
A person commits a crime and has an attorney to represent his case. How good the attorney’s plea may make a difference as to winning the case or watching his client suffer the sentence. I was called to be a professional witness to a case where two men were seriously burned from an explosion of electrical equipment at an asphalt plant and whether they were careless or someone before them were guilty of incorrect application of the electrical work. Upon examining the equipment and using my expertise in electrical installations, my testimony would prove the injured parties were not to blame. Speaking with the attorney who hired me I asked who he believed would be the winner. Ralph, he answered, it all depends on which side makes the best argument, and not necessarily the truth itself.
Using that response it can make a difference in life as well when the spiritual synopsis enters into the reality of sin opposes righteousness. You may ask, a righteous person should not be considered as a sinner, because grace is on his side. Hmm; “For the just man falls seven times and rises again.” (Prv 24: 16). “Verily I say unto you, among them that are born of women there has not risen a greater than John the Baptist.” (Mt 11: 11).
Here we see that no one is above the faults of man when he sins even seven times. We must say that John the Baptist is an exception according to Jesus’ testimony. However, the truth according to the role Christ took upon himself with the Incarnation, is the one side that is truth itself where righteousness comes not through our doing but through the very ministry of Jesus from Incarnation through the Ascension back to heaven. How will we be represented in our judgment? Jesus Christ already stood in on our behalf when he was nailed to the tree and shed his blood as an offering of forgiveness to his Father. “When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, “It is finished.” (Jn 19: 30).
The trial of mankind was now history and our counselor was greeting us who believe in his victory as we are judged forgiven. Justice is served, there is no more question of which side made the best testimony; The Cross on Calvary was the final answer as we walked out of the courtroom and into the path of eternity with God.
The righteousness of God is given to us when our faith becomes the impetus that moves our selfish motivations to a plausible existence that reaches into the Spirit of God and welcomes our mortal bodies. It is here when righteousness becomes the very essence of God touching us and moving our weakness to his strength. “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Cor 12: 9).
Justice will be served upon those who reject the Lord. Mercy will be given to those who believe and trust in God, now and in eternity.
