The Stars In The Sky
Eileen Renders May 2024
The stars light the night and are set in order by God. In a message my heart received once from God, He told me that I was like a bright star in the sky and that He named each star in the sky and knew each by name. I thought that perhaps, it was not Jesus speaking to me, but my brain. When returning home from Mass, I went directly to my bible and tried to understand how I could have heard a message from Jesus that I could not make sense of. There are many times after receiving Holy Communion when in my pew, kneeling, I cover my face to avoid all distractions, and that is when I may hear a few words that come directly from God.
Searching His words in my Catholic bible, I did not want to share these words until I could satisfy myself that the words were true. As for myself, I had never learned about how God named each star in the sky.
The following verses showed me that God was speaking to me and that I had not been deceiving myself into believing.
In the Catholic Bible, the verse mentions God naming the stars and knowing them all by name which is found in Psalm 147:4. The verse states: “He determines the number of stars; He calls them each by name.”
Philippians 2:15 it states:
“…so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky”
This verse encourages believers to live righteously and stand out morally in a world that is often seen as corrupt or misguided. By doing so, they will shine brightly, like stars, as examples of goodness and purity.
The symbolism of a bright star in the sky often represents divine guidance, hope, and prominence. For instance, the Star of Bethlehem is one of the most famous examples of a star as a divine guide, leading the Magi to Jesus’ birthplace. In a broader sense, stars symbolize the light of God’s wisdom shining in the darkness, guiding and providing hope. Additionally, stars can represent the glory and splendor of God, as well as the promise of eternal life, as seen in Daniel 12:3: “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”
