My Best Friend/ The Holy Spirit
Ask again; Why hasn’t God brought an end to our suffering?
To answer that question legitimately we need to take a look at some people who were closer to God than us as to what they wrote about through their personal experience.
Take John 3: 16 as “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.” “Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” (Jn 3: 16 - 18).
Then we might ask, why does he delay in saving those who believe and are waiting for the final crescendo of bringing us home without so much pain and fear of more disasters that challenge our faith? The answer is easy. What if you were in a state of mortal sin and the end would’ve come down upon you like a ton of bricks before you had a chance to seek God’s forgiveness? Where would you now be in eternity? You would exclaim how wonderful that I had an opportunity to receive the mercy of God.
We’ll then, what about the millions or billions not yet born who are waiting to experience life and because of failing to live according to God’s will fall into Mortal sin? What is their prognosis as to finding God’s mercy if the Lord decides to wipe away any promise of forgiveness? Just as God was waiting for you to find redemption through Christ, so he is waiting for these millions or billions to have the same opportunity. Only God knows how many more souls will find life and have a need to be forgiven when they fall from grace. His love is so deep that he will wait for each one to hear about his Son Jesus Christ and the message the Son came to call all of us to salvation. God’s patience is far greater than any of us, and waiting is his way of bringing all who believe to his home in eternity which is heaven.
We should never think that after us there will be no more people to whom Christ went through his Passion and death for. In spite of the waiting for the Rapture to release any further suffering on us, there just might be many more waiting to live lives, fall from grace, and be forgiven by a God of Mercy and Love. Pray for them as well as those who went before us, and our own souls as well.
Jesus went to the Cross and died for all who went before him, those who are now alive on the earth, and the future of humanity who are yet to be born into eternal life. We are not the last, or are we? That is a mystery no one knows, only the Father in heaven knows. Waiting for the question of why to be answered we must wait with patience and love for those who will join us in heaven.
