Reflections on Divine Mercy

One of the best presents I have ever received is my new Divine Mercy study Bible that my friends bought for me from the Shrine of Divinr Mercy.  It is unique in that it contains reflection moments called Mercy Moments and these moments are everywhere!  It is set up perfectly for Lectio Divina and contemplative reading.

My history with Divine Mercy goes back to the time just after my father passed away.  I was sitting on the floor, looking through a box of family history, some of which I had never seen.  One of these was a rolled up scroll.  What could it be?  I thought we knew about all his degrees.  When I unrolled the scroll I discovered a poster of the original Divine Mercy image, and rolled up with it was my father's First Communion certificate, dated 1942!

Thus my journey into Divine Mercy began.  I know my father must have said the chaplet, though he never mentioned it (Army Signal Corp training is the best!).  And that devotion passed to me, the second generation, and has born incredible fruit in my life.
