And the First Will Be Last

You’re the first to buy the toy

But what about the orphan girl or boy

At the new detail shop you’re the first to get in line

But what about the cleaners and their time

You’re the first to enter the stadium

But what about those who never get to go or see them

You’re not the first at going to Mass

But you are the first at gambling class

You’re the first at the restaurant

But what about what the homeless need and want

You’re the first at everything

But the most important thing

Being last and not offended but satisfied

By doing what our Lord Commanded

Serving others before yourself

Not putting others on the mantle shelf

If you don’t change you may find yourself the first in the wrong line

For Satan’s awaiting you now and that is not fine
