Catholic Lessons Taught on D-day
Yes, this guy is the legit pope. Wish he wasn't, but we can't get into the credibility spiral that loons in both major American political parties trot out anytime an election doesn't go their way.
Though, how he got enough votes in a Curia made up of JP II and Benedict XVI appointees is hard to see. But he did and they wittingly or not elected a Marxist pope.
And what was the deal with the Benedict retirement? Was he getting batty? He seemed like he was firing with all cylinders. Was it a German WWII thing? No matter what, he is supremely missed.
Gone are the Catholic glory days of the two aforementioned giants. JP, with his world-changing papacy and Benedict, with his excellent sheparding of the Church, are in the past. They are replaced with a Bolshevik ward heeler in a funny hat.
This guy, never like mentioning his papal name as it's a stain on the throne of St. Peter, plays footsie with Gavin Newsom and joyfully joins in on the climate scam. He draws moral equivalency between a free nation like Israel and the butchers of Hamas. He regularly invites all manner of terrorist and international miscreant to the Vatican to bask in his sanctimonious glow. This guy is bad news for the Church and the world.
It gets worse when we take into account his pontifications (get it?) on economics. For it's there his Marxism really shows the ugly snout that has killed hundreds of millions over the last century. And who does Bergoglio save his sympathy for? The murdered masses? Nah. He wants us to feel warm fuzzy for the murderers and their economic system that consigned multitudes to starvation and death.
The pope's ignorance of basic economics is only surpassed by his hatred of the free market. He seems to think Jesus was the hippie older brother of Karl Marx. Thus when he decries the, to him, inherent evil of the market he ignores the dignity of work that can only happen with the infusion of capital.
As for social issues, granted, he has stayed true on most, while teasing the press with others. If he would only, like the superb Benedict, confine his brief to the Church he would not be half bad.
But that would not make him beloved of socialist despots and terrorists. And in the mind of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, that kind of faith centered Church simply won't do. He'd rather be a lefty pop celebrity.
