Do you feel you are a martyr, do you want to be a martyr?
How Will God Prepare For Our Coming?
Eileen Renders
It might be fair to say that we have all thought about how we imagine heaven will be if and when we leave this world. Praying, and living the Commandments, we all hope that God will take our souls to heaven for all eternity.
The question we hold in our hearts are seemingly endless; “Will we have our own little home, and if so, do we sleep? Will we see our loved ones? Will our deceased pets be there? What will we do with our time?”
We do know we will be judged on how we lived the Commandments He gave to the Disciples to be handed down to us. In Mark 12;30 It is written; “You shall love the Lord your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.”
Mark 12:31 The Second part is this as written; “You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other Commandment greater than these.”
Therefore, it is quite clear that we will be judged according to the love, empathy, respect, and offerings we desire from others. The greatest treasure we can give to God is all our love, respect, and obedience. With our neighbor, we can love and respect, especially to all who show us love and respect.
Will we have our abode in heaven? This does seem to be a bit of a mystery. However, God did say; “I go before you to prepare a place for you.” Perhaps we will. Many of us are curious about whether, or not, we will ever see our family and pets again who have gone before us. Most of us are in agreement however, we will see our parents, our siblings, and our relatives who have gone before us, of course only if they are in heaven. Our prayers are always heard, and having Masses said for our deceased family members is an act of love.
Will we see our loving pets again? Another mystery that is not answered for us. Yet, we are fine with hoping that we will see them again. God is loving and giving, and He knows what pleases us. Therefore, we can hope and believe that we will.
A last question we often wonder about is how we will spend all of our eternity in heaven, what will we be doing? Again, we can only imagine. Knowing that heaven is peaceful and joyful and everything is much more vivid in heaven, including music, colors, and more, we will be feasting our eyes, especially being in the presence of God. Moreover, we might easily see ourselves visiting old friends and family. And also, sitting by the water listening to the sound of birds, and watching flowers open up in front of our eyes.
