What to my wondering eyes do I see through the Spirit of God?
Isn’t it ironic how quick we forget the Generosity of God?
Perhaps it is a broken record when we are reminded of what God gives to each one and yet our prime antithesis is to forget where these attributes came from. It’s like receiving a valuable present from our parents and later this prized possession no longer has meaning since our heart is now set on more valuables that we cannot afford. Who, we wonder, will set our heart’s desire on a pride evolving piece of material that will never satisfy us.
As the world revolves around treasures that are made of clay and mortar and have a life-span of years rather than eternity, our thirst for more of the same never feels satisfied. The Tower of Babel was the first to last but a moment in time for those whose desire for more led them to beat God at their own game, and lost because of pride. (Gn 11 ff). So it is with our 21st century where the more money we earn the greater the quest for more becomes a bottomless pit. How much money, prestige, or power can one have when their abundance is never enough?
Do not be disillusioned when the treasure chest where our stocks and bonds are held in trust fails. It happened during the great depression, and has a threat of again failing. In the 1920’s the banks failed because the money was not secured by the government. Today, the banks are secure up to a certain maximum, but the stock market isn’t as lucky. Millions can be made by stock-brokers, but just as much can also disappear. That is why the stock market is good for people with a lot of money to lose without going bust.
This brings us to the current scenario around the world where the treasury of the United States depends on sound investments. Oil has become the prime market subsidy that will make or break us. When one nation deals with unsound principles by closing its oil fields or curtailing the natural gas deposits it has, that nation will find it has done the most insane move and now depends on foreign nations to supply our needs and money is at the root of all this unsound maneuvering. That nation is America.
Besides having an administration that is senseless in commercial dealings, it also has opened itself to the possibility of foreign entities thirsting to take this nation into captivity by subverting our constitution and freedoms we hold dear.
God has blessed America and the giftedness of our leaders, from 1776 until a few years ago. What has occurred is a lame-duck administration that has been in power without a leader who can guide us efficiently. God wants to keep our nation healthy spiritually, but the leaders have discounted God’s presence and are making the name of God and all he handed us to govern freely a shelved idea. This nation has put God and all that it stands for in a hole and covered over with lust, sexual provocation, and given power to another nation ro do as they will. It is ironic that the generosity of God has been abused and the evil that exists because of it is now pushing the grasp of Marxism down our throats and the final result will be a nation of Satanic influence.
What will the future of America be in a week, a month, or maybe less than a year is anybody’s guess. But the day is coming when a free democracy is now held together by a thin thread and it won’t take much to cut it off from our constitution and the freedoms that God gave us as a gift.
