God cannot Not Love!!
Some people who profess to be Christian in name only but believe God is ready to punish us each time we sin have developed a theory that our creator is ready with sin spears waiting to throw at us when we sin. We can all agree that there are people who make the act of overlooking forgiveness a challenge that checks our patience. However, if we are followers of Jesus Christ and adhere to the actual words he spoke, our absorption of his teaching should open our minds to what he said regarding forgiveness. “You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.” (Mt 5: 43 - 45).
A recent article I wrote (”Why has God not dealt with the enemies against his love”) also points to this idea and it shows that what Jesus was implying is reflected by God’s eternal love for all his children. As his prized creation we too must do the same. What about the many dictators around the world who claim to be Satan’s ambassadors by spreading evil. Remember that God couldn’t create anything evil. “God looked at everything he made, and found it very good.” (Gn 1” 31).
In the past I heard one mom saying to her children that God is watching and he will punish you if you don’t straighten up. I wonder if other moms ever spoke to their children like Adolph Hitler and other cruel acting children once they grew up?
When a parent raises a large number of children, the threat to one or more of them to behave or the wood shed is their punishment, usually does not occur. Why, because keeping peace within the home will not become real through anger and frustration over simple occurrences. That is how God deals with us, by finding the gentle aspirations of the many to set examples through the rest.
One woman I heard boasting about how God was coming to quickly take care of the evil purveyors in our current society. Her reasons are political in essence and are waiting for peace to find its way into our global system. It won’t happen yet, but it is coming. We must continue to pray and evangelize the needy who are not aware of the evil that lurks in our presence. That mandate from Christ will never wane as long as we have the grace to continue reaching souls for God. For the souls that appear to slip through our hands because we fail to reach them will become an obstruction to our own salvation. “Obey your leaders and defer to them, for they keep watch over you and will have to give an account, that they may fulfill their task with joy and not with sorrow, for that would be of no advantage to you.” (Heb 13: 17).
