Jesus, I trust in you!
Weather here is paradoxical here in South Carolina. July is very hot here (for those that live outside of the United States, we use Fahrenheit for temperature, so keep that in mind), so we’ve already had several days this year with triple digit temperatures.
July, statewide, is also our rainiest month (though, it may be differ depending on the part of the state, South Carolina is small but geographically diverse).
So, we have days where we’ll have tripe digit temperatures, but will have afternoon/evening rain.
In fact, a thing just popped as I’m typing this that says “Rain coming in about 2 hours”.
Before we get started, please check my community on Locals; Catholicism News and Whatever Community
And that rain is needed on a hot day.
And it got me thinking of a scripture that, honestly, I think I only know because of a “Peanuts” comic strip. (Seriously, Charlie Brown and co were surprisingly good at teaching scripture).
“It rains on the just and the unjust”. Okay, so, like, what does that even mean? (My mom’s Californian shines through in my typing, I like, can’t, like, help it! It’s like, genetic)!
And so, for these we go to Matthew 5:43-45, King James Version because my Douay Rheims apparently sprouted legs (I’m not fond of copying verses off of the interwebs).
“Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemies.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust”.
There’s more, and like always, I encourage you to read it on your own.
But yeah, your lot in life is that it’ll rain on you, and the sun will shine on you.
Whether you’re evil or just.
But, dude, seriously, don’t be evil. You’ve got other things to worry about.
Like hell.
(It still hasn't rained, by the way)
