54-Day Rosary Novena Opportunities for Remaining of 2024
Jesus begins to teach in the synagogues. Many were astonished as we hear in Mark’s gospel. Some question who he was and where he came from. He was met with the lack of faith of many.
The prophets who came before him would remind God’s people that the Messiah was to come, yet the words were met with resistance. Sometimes we can be like the prophets. How often do we tell people that they must do something pleasing to God, but we are dissed by their hardened hearts? It can be frustrating, for sure.
St. Paul wrote in his letter to the Corinthians, “I will boast in my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell in me.” He acknowledges the fact that God works through us to strengthen our weaknesses and to perfect the path to him.
In today’s world, Jesus can empathize with us. The good news is Christ fills us with holy joy. It was the same that perfected the lives of saints like Mother Teresa who was still smiling amid spiritual suffering.
God calls us to be joyful. He wants that joy to work through us.
Let God work through you in the bad times and our weaknesses.
