For those questioning what caused the changes that brought about irreverence and a watering down of our belief that "the Eucharist is the source and summit of the whole Christian Life (CCC 1324); a false spirit of Vatican II was propagated by the "deep church" infiltrators. They were not called for by the documents of the council, but by what is called "the spirit of Vatican II."
17 Innovations Never Called for by Vatican II
Holy Communion in the Hand instead of on the tongue.
Replacing God-centered sacred music with man-centered folk type songs and rock type music (sacred music was actually "encouraged" by Vatican II). Stopping sacred organ music. Bringing in Guitars, Jews Harps, Drums, and stomping of the feet in order to prevent any personal prayer or conversation with Jesus. Not giving Jesus time to call children to religious vocations.
Removing Gregorian Chant from the Mass. Gregorian Chant was acutally "encouraged" by Vatican II.
Removing all Latin in the Mass. Retaining Latin in most of the Mass with the exception of the readings, the Creed and the Our Father was actually mandated by Vatican II.
Removal of Communion Rails which is the Altar Rail. The Altar Rail has a very deep, necessary and important significance that has been almost totally lost today. Learn more here and here.
Removal of sacred art and architecture.
Near total absence of promotion of devotional life (for example: no longer reciting the Saint Michael Prayer at the end of Mass, the Rosary, Angelus, Guardian Angel prayer, litanies, or practicing the 40 Hours Devotion, Eucharistic Adoration and processions, etc.).
Near Disavowel of Confession.
Removal of most of fasting and abstinence.
Never preaching about receiving Holy Communion in the state of Grace.
Not teaching the difference between mortal sin and venial sin or even teaching about the consequences of sin at all.
Preaching that everyone who dies is in heaven and not encouraging prayer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
No longer teaching the faithful to "Offer it Up" - to unite their prayers, joys, works, sorrows and suffering, their whole lives with Christ to the Father for the Salvation of souls.

I am a daughter of the Most High and of His Catholic Church. I introduce myself that way because I am so grateful for that! I have been married to Dan for 36 years and we have three young adult children - Brett, Nicole and Eryn - and three grandchildren - Cash, Bowie and Indy. I was employed as the Adult Faith Formation Coordinator at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City, Georgia for 14 years from December of 2008 to January of 2023. I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology from Catholic Distance University and a certificate as a Catholic Spiritual Mentor from the Catholic Spiritual Mentorship Program.
I left fulltime ministry in the parish to concentrate on organizing events. I would like to extend my outreach to other parishes and organizations who would like to host a wonderful Adult Faith formation event but might not have the experience or confidence to do that on their own. I offer various services including but not limited to (fees are charged hourly for most services):
+ Event Planning: event planning from start to finish,
+ Consultation: consultation about an event,
+ Consultation about running a successful Adult Faith Formation Program.
+ I also offer different Adult Faith classes and courses that can be accessed by an individual or a group or can be taught by me via zoom or locally in person.
