The Golden Anniversary of the Moon Landing; Part of God's Plan for Humanity
A call for help becomes a connection with God
Any one of us could relate to this type of assistance when a crisis appears without warning. It doesn’t always show itself with bells ringing or horns blowing. But when the problem reaches a high rate of impact we know the worst is just occurring and we are caught in the crosshairs of a possible disaster.
How wonderful life would appear without the intrusion of disasters into the peace we always look for. However life isn’t made watching others struggling with serious problems while we are left free of the same. When the signs of difficulties come upon us the reality of the same our neighbors were hit with become the very attacks for us.
It isn’t as though an enemy is waiting for our guard to fail and then hit us where we are at our low-point of protection. But when our rampart has weakened and sin is ready to pounce on us it is then we can say here there was an enemy that watched for an opening into our stern blockade that allowed our weakness to become fodder for this atrocious attack.
There can be a time when our weakness may say, “Go ahead, enter my needs and desires, I know when to say, enough.” Really? Eve couldn’t say no to the Serpent. David did not close his eyes when viewing Bathsheba bathing naked. The list goes on throughout the biblical heroes in the bible, and each one of us will be tempted beyond the grace that will help us, but our weakness always prevails.
Our blessing is the knowledge of God when he created us and knew how our lack of faith would open us to an evil that is always around. Remember, evil is not a thing but is the absence of goodness. As one who was in the US Army we were told when facing an enemy on the battlefield we must always have that rifle ready in the evening watch to be prepared to fight if needed. So it is with a spiritual battle that is always close by and one temptation may quickly leap out from the bushes of faith, ready to take us down with a promise of lust and greed.
Surprise! Right beside the enemy is the Lord. When our adversary strikes, so does the Holy Spirit. We may not realize the spiritual battle that has begun but in the end the Holy Spirit has taken over protecting our weakness from a total collapse. Even an investment of our time or money has become costly; the result of the Spirit’s intercession will prove to be victorious. That winning gesture becomes a warning and says to our insidious desires to stop where we are.
Eve should have stopped, but went further tempting her husband. Their rejection to God’s will handed on to us the result of sin. David should have refused his lust, but did not. This caused adultery and murder to be the result of a desire to sex and killing of Uriah. If we follow the same path by blocking the Holy Spirit with our free will, the end result will be the same. We can always cry out for help and the result will be an instant connection to God’s grace.
