Suffer for Expiation of sin
Today will we hear the Call from Christ?
You and I have heard that call, but sometimes the sound gets drowned out by the noise of evil that sounds so much louder than the original words of God. It can become like an announcement in a crowded arena and only a few words can be understood. The confusion may easily lead our sense of direction to the wrong scenario with distress.
Because as humans our nature is never satisfied with the simple strands of life but is always pushing aside the elements of hard work for the pleasures that take very little effort to attain. That unfortunately can lead to destruction if we don’t take a realistic look at what is confronting our relaxed approach of common sense. The one gift that God did not hand us was a book of directions that taught all of us a “how to do or act when certain principles rise up in front of us.”
God knew how his children would act and came prepared to lead us away from the pitfalls of life. When God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness” it was no surprise that he found his humans lying and trying to cover their nakedness with fig leaves to cover their sinfulness. That is the same status people have in today's society. We are given one blessing and we tend to push it aside for one that God did not hand us.
It becomes a simple way of thinking with an attitude that applies respect for ourselves and those we meet daily. When any of us decides to berate another person for no good reason may find themselves in a corner of a hostile environment because of pride. That type of attitude will usually become our mantra and is destined to lower our self- esteem and self-confidence towards goodness.
That call many of us may confuse with a self-elevating attitude towards a hedonistic attitude will be the downfall of our lives. Since the desire to become something we were never given from the Holy Spirit, our selfish attitude becomes a self-induced premise that can only stand in the way of hearing God’s call to ministry or any of the technical vocations he has laid out for each one of us.
One thing is certain when God calls us it is not for our own rise to fame or wealth. His kingdom, that is already within us, is designed to bring others along and in that way builds an eternal destiny for all whom we reach. Developing a positive attitude towards all whom we meet is one that will produce a heaven God is calling you and me into. However, our attitude must never become an earned success since no one can earn their way to heaven. But it will answer the call we are called to accomplish for the very reason Christ became one of us. “The coming of the kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, “Look, here it is, or, There it is. For behold, the kingdom of God is among you.” (Lk 17: 20 - 21). It is an essence that as we promote the life of Christ the kingdom is found within our premise of doing and sharing with the unbelievers among us as well. It is not something to come, it is here!
