Where Are You Going From Here?
How to Recognize When God Is Calling Us To Service
Eileen Renders
This subject matter is also a matter of self-questioning many of us ask ourselves as we are reaching a Crossroads in our lives. Is God calling me? What is it He wants me to do? I would like to address these questions as they pertain to me personally as I cannot answer any other way.
At a young age I had always wanted to be a writer, I wanted to voice myself and share what I had learned and remain anonymous, as writing can shield writers from the public eye, and avoid one from being distracted or being caught up with a needless sense of pride. I had to put my desire to write and to share when I learned that only writers with a field of expertise in a specific field with credentials would be read by readers.
Moving forward, I decided to go back to college and study Health Sciences, and eventually earned a degree as Dr. of Naturopathy back in 2001 from the District of Columbia. I was excited to learn about Vitamins, Minerals, Supplements, and Herbal products as I believed that medications were only acceptable in cases such as Diabetes, Hypertension, and a few other conditions. I set up the First Wellness practice in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey in 1995. What followed was that I now had an expertise in which I could share and write about. Including being solicited to become a participant in The Ryan White Program which was founded after a 14-year-old boy contracted HIV from a dirty needle in his Dentist’s office. I was able to assist in lowering Liver toxicity in HIV that evolved from the taking of too many toxic drugs.
What followed was the writing and publishing of “HIV AND DRUG FREE, Cancer And The Immune System.”
As my relationship with Christ became more intimate, I felt His inspiration and motivation urging me to write only about how to live a life with service to God as my focus. Today, and for several years, that is exactly what I write and all that I am compelled to do. God leads me to write about our Faith, but also how it relates to Life, some philosophy, and even Death.
Answers; We will know when God accepts and calls us to Service when we are inspired, motivated, and led by Christ to begin a type of Service to God (meant to benefit others) that we had maybe never considered previously. Also, we will be led to a source that is open to our Service or talent without much searching at all. As though it just landed in our laps.
We will immediately know that it is God leading us as we will begin to feel a sense of joy, peace, and satisfaction within our being that is completely different from other feelings we have experienced in the past. The total joy of realizing that God has accepted any one of us to serve Him by evangelizing, writing, speaking, assisting the poor, or a host of other services is the best place any of us can ever hope to be.
This transition occurs usually after some years of following the Ten Commandments, frequenting the Sacraments, and practicing love, empathy, and forgiveness. It is why we were born; to die in Him as He died to be in us, our Bridegroom!
